Keynote Watcher
Keynote Watcher is a Keynote Manager + feature that monitors keynote sources for open Revit projects and notifies the user of changes and/or reloads the keynotes into Revit. For users who are working on the Revit file while another team member is working on the keynotes, this allows them to ensure that their keynote display is up to date at all times.
When turned on, this function finds the keynote source for each open Revit project (excluding family files as they have no keynote source). Keynote Watcher performs a slightly different function for Revit 2015 and beyond than it does for 2014 due to updates in API capability.
Revit 2014
Keynote Watcher then monitors text files for changes and pops up a balloon notification (similar to Windows Update notification) notifying the user which file has been changed and needs to be reloaded. The user can simply ignore this notification and keep working, or stop and reload the keynote file.
When a file is printed, Keynote Watcher also checks to see if the keynote file for the project to be printed has changes that have not been reloaded. If the file has been changed the user is warned that the print may have incorrect keynote values and is given the option to cancel the print or proceed.
Revit 2015 and Newer
Keynote Watcher still monitors for changes to the keynote sources, but in 2015 and newer versions of Revit it automatically reloads the keynotes. Because the keynote file is automatically reloaded there is no need to check that the file is current when printed.
