Keynote Palette
The keynote palette is a feature of Keynote Manager + that allows keynote files to be edited from within Revit using the powerful Keynote Manager interface. When turned on, the keynote palette automatically displays the correct keynote file for the current Revit project on a palette control and allows editing.
The keynote palette can be modified in the following ways:
- Click and drag the handle (the bar that says 'Keynote Manger +') to reposition the palette on screen.
- Right click the handle to expand or collapse the palette.
- Click the flip control (<>) to flip the direction of the palette. If the handle is on the right it will be flipped to the left; if it's on the left it will be flipped to the right.
- Click and drag on any edge or corner of the palette to change the size.
- Click the 'X' control to hide the palette (it can be shown again by clicking 'Show Palette' on the Revolution Design tab of the Revit ribbon).
All palette settings are remembered from session to session so once the palette is positioned as desired it will appear in the same position next time Revit is opened.
General editing controls for files opened in the palette are the same as the main interface and are described on the other help pages.
In addition to the standard editing controls, the keynote palette also contains several enhancements for interacting with the Revit model:
- Synchronize key values -When a key value is changed in the keynote palette, all open Revit projects that use that keynote file are searched for elements using that key value. If any are found they are automatically updated to the new value. This ensures that there are no broken key value links in Revit.
- Automatic Reload (Revit 2015 and above) - When the keynote file for an open project is changed, Keynote Watcher causes Revit to automatically reload the file so that changes are immediately visible in Revit.
- Apply - Keynotes can be applied to the current selection in Revit simply by pressing the 'Apply' button next to the desired keynote on the palette.
- Used / Unusued - Keynotes that are in use in the current model are designated by an icon in the right hand column. Click this icon to select and show all elements in the Revit model currently using this keynote.
