View Reference Master allows you to place reference sections and callouts quickly based on the sheet number and detail number rather than searching through a long list of possible views.

Note: Certain views do not accept section cuts or callouts and the reference commands do not work in such views. Examples: section cuts and callouts can't be placed in sheets and schedules.

Reference Section Cut

This command places a reference section cut; selecting the command will bring up the following dialog:

The view selection dialog consists of four primary options:

  1. Search Bar - This bar allows a google style search for your view. Simply type in any part of the view reference (X/XXX) or view name and a dropdown list will appear with all views mathing your text. If you wish to search this way you may simply select the desired view from here and press 'Enter' to exit the dialog and draw the reference section.
  2. Sheet Filters - Select an option here to filter the available views by sheet in order to find the view you want. Note that sheet filters filter all available views in both the view list and the search bar. The 'By Sheet' section of this dialog lists only the sheets that contain views that can be referenced by a section.
  3. View List - This list is an alternative to the search bar and shows all available views after sheet filters are applied. Note that this dialog automatically filters out views that can not be referenced by a reference section.
  4. Placement Mode - There are two options for placing your refrence sections:
    1. Two Points - This is the default option and is similar to the default method of placing a section cut. It allows you to pick two points in your model and the section will be drawn between them with the head as the first point picked and the tail as the second. The reference section will be snapped to the closest 45 degree angle increment.
    2. Detail Line - This allows you to select one or more straight detail lines. The selected detail lines will be replaced with reference sections. While this option requires you to place the detail lines first it also allows bulk creation and greater control of the angle of placement.

Reference Callout

This command places a reference callout; selecting the command will bring up the following dialog:

The view selection dialog consists of three primary options:

  2. Sheet Filters - Select an option here to filter the available views by sheet in order to find the view you want. Note that sheet filters filter all available views in both the view list and the search bar. The 'By Sheet' section of this dialog lists only the sheets that contain views that can be referenced by a callout.
  3. View List - This list is an alternative to the search bar and shows all available views after sheet filters are applied. Note that this dialog automatically filters out views that can not be referenced by a reference callout.
