Selection Master

Rehost Level

Overview

During the course of a project sometimes a level becomes unnecessary, or elements may simply be placed on the wrong level by accident. The Level Rehost tool was designed to quickly move elements from one level to another.

Rehost Dialog

Options

Prior to activating the Level Rehost command, the elements to be rehosted must be selected. If you are attempting to remove all elements from a level in order to delete the level try using Quick Level to select the elements.

Once the command is activated a dialog box is given with the following options:

Level Reversed Elements

It is possible when using the Modify Offsets option that an objects levels will become reversed. In other words, an element could have it's base constrained to a level that is higher than it's top constraint. When the rehost command is run, Selection Master will give a list of the elements that would be reversed with the current settings (if any) and display that list to the user. The dialog displayed gives the user the option to skip these elements (don't rehost them) or allow the reversal (rehost them anyway).

Limitations

Please note the that due to limitations in the current Revit API, workplane based elements hosted on a level are not currently able to be rehosted; such elements will be skipped. At the end of the command the user will be presented with a list of all such elements that failed to rehost (all other elements will be rehosted normally). Elements that fit this description will have a parameter named 'Workplane' listed in the instance properties box, and the value for that parameter will be 'Level : levelname' where 'levelname' is the name of the level it is associated with.

Elements that CAN be rehosted are as follows:
