Keynote Watcher

Description

Keynote Watcher is a pro version addin that monitors keynote files for open Revit projects and notifies the user of changes. For users who are working on the Revit file while another team member is working on the keynote file, this allows them to ensure that their keynote file is up to date at all times.

Because of API limitations in previous versions, Keynote Watcher is available for Revit 2012 only and requires Keynote Manager 10.2 or higher to function fully.

Interface

Keynote Watcher includes 3 primary buttons which are placed on the 'Revolution Design' tab:

• Two radio buttons are available. These are on and off buttons for the keynote file monitor function.
• A third button is available to open the keynote file in Keynote Manager.

Lastly, the Keynote Watcher panel also includes three smaller functions; help, product information, and license information. Since the license for Keynote Watcher is shared with Keynote Manager Pro activating one will activate the other.

Keynote Monitoring

When turned on, this function finds the keynote file for each open Revit project (excluding family files as they have no keynote file). Keynote Watcher then monitors those files for changes and pops up a balloon notification (similar to Windows Update notification) notifying the user which file has been changed and needs to be reloaded. The user can simply ignore this notification and keep working, or stop and reload the keynote file.

Open with Keynote Manager

This tools opens the keynote file for the currently active project in Keynote Manager. If Keynote Manager is not open Keynote Watcher will open Keynote Manager pre-loaded to the correct keynote file. If Keynote Manager is already open, Keynote Watcher will open the keynote file in the current Keynote Manager window.
